    Cultivating self-compassion

    “Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.” The Dalai Lama

    Self-compassion means “bearing witness to one’s own pain and responding with kindness and understanding.” (Kristin Neff), therefore cultivating a deep sense of self-compassion in simple, every-day ways is at the root for creating change in our own individual hearts and lives.
    Self-compassion is a skill that each of us can easily nurture. Self-compassion is strongly related to emotional well-being and it has been associated with greater life satisfaction, social connectedness, self-determination, self-concept accuracy, and greater emotional composure. But why are we so resistant to practicing it?
    So come join me for our monthly meditation session and let us bear witness to the big and little sufferings in our lives and meet them with compassion
