The Magic Of Gratitude
Immense gratitude simply for the gift of life itself.
It’s easy to forget that life is the greatest gift of all and how we take our human life for granted when it is in fact a miracle! Practicing gratitude regularly can “quite literally change people’s lives” (Robert Emmons), and when we acknowledge and recognise that there are good and enjoyable things in our lives – we can even change the neural structures in our brains!
Gratitude is a skill that we can all cultivate and gratitude protects us because it serves as a barrier against deep waters of negative emotions such as envy, hostility, irritation, and worry. It involves a focus on the present moment and appreciating what is, instead of dwelling endlessly on what could be.
