I recently realised that my energy doesn’t always flow!

Sometimes I get stuck – stuck in my thoughts, my actions and my intentions.  When we experience “stuckness” in our lives nothing seems to flow.  Life seems more challenging, people and situations are a little more frustrating and we only focus on what’s not working, what’s not flowing.

So start with your own energy and how it flows throughout your body. What do you notice about your energy?  Notice your thoughts – are they positive, happy thoughts or are they more negative and heavy?

Blockages to your energy such as everyday living, past experiences, emotions and fears can prevent your energy from flowing and possibly cause stress, hardship or disease.

So what keeps your energy flowing?  How can you stay more positive and balanced?

From my experience the following practices have had a profound effect on my well-being and help to keep my energy flowing:

  1. Mindfulness Meditation – Research has discovered that even the practice of 5 minutes of mindfulness meditation each day can have a cumulative effect on your physical and mental wellness.
  2. Breathe – Using the simple technique of 3 deep belly breaths helps to interrupt the flow of stressful thoughts and feelings and directs your attention just to your breath.
  3. Reiki – This is a Japanese system of healing, which promotes all aspects of well-being. It is a holistic therapy in that it works on the mind, body and spirit by stimulating the body’s own natural healing capacity. Reiki energy flows to where it is most needed as it clears, strengthens and heals, thus allowing your “life force” to flow in a healthy, balanced and natural way.
